How does someone know they have mild to moderate hearing loss vs. severe hearing loss?
Individuals with severe hearing loss often have a difficult time hearing conversations even in quiet settings, as well as difficulty hearing loud noises. They might also begin to read lips as a result of their hearing difficulties. Those with mild to moderate hearing loss typically have difficulty hearing in loud environments or in group settings, on the phone, or while watching TV. If you aren’t sure whether or not your hearing loss is severe, consider making an appointment with your doctor.
